Walnut Week arrives just as Bethlehem transforms into the Christmas City! A time when the Christmas City Village reopens in the Sun Inn Courtyard, the chill of the season settles in, and the city comes alive with anticipation for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and all the celebrations to come.

Bethlehem’s newest landmark, the Walnut Street Garage, is ready to open, and we’re celebrating in a big way! Join the Bethlehem Parking Authority, the City of Bethlehem and The Chamber for Walnut Week: a week-long celebration filled with community spirit, downtown pride, and the festive energy that makes Bethlehem shine this time of year!

This special week marks the official opening of the Walnut Street Garage, a project years in the making that enhances accessibility, walkability, and connection throughout our business districts. From press conferences to special events, we’re lighting up the season and shining a spotlight on all that makes downtown Bethlehem so extraordinary.

Kickoff Press Conference 

Monday, November 17 – 3:30PM

Join us at the corner of Main & Walnut Street as we officially kick off Walnut Week and make several exciting announcements about the week.

At this special press conference, the City of Bethlehem and Bethlehem Parking Authority will unveil new holiday initiatives and showcase the transformative lighting projects illuminating our downtown this season. We’ll share exciting details about all that’s ahead for Walnut Week.

This event highlights the Bethlehem Parking Authority’s continued commitment to enhancing accessibility, walkability, and the holiday experience in our city — bringing even more light, connection, and community spirit to the heart of Bethlehem.

Meet CAT: Coalition for Appropriate Transportation

Tuesday, November 18 – 4:00PM – 7:00PM

CAT will be giving out 100 bikes to local families for the holidays that were refurbished by staff from 4-7pm on the sidewalk outside the Walnut Street Garage.

The Rooftop Gathering: Oasis Preview Event

Wednesday, November 19 – 12:00PM – 1:30PM

Join us atop the Walnut Street Garage in Bethlehem for The Rooftop Gathering: Oasis Preview Event — a free community wellness experience hosted by local partners including The Yoga Loft, BoomFit Strength Club, SimpliciTea & Co., and Sightless Therapeutic Massage.

Enjoy a 45-minute yoga and strength fusion class, a pop-up tea bar, chair massages, merch, and giveaways — all celebrating the launch of Oasis, Bethlehem’s new wellbeing hub.

Walnut Street Garage, Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join the Bethlehem Parking Authority and City of Bethlehem as the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce proudly hosts the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the NEW Walnut Street Garage!

Be part of this exciting moment as we officially open Bethlehem’s newest downtown landmark — a project that enhances accessibility, supports our local businesses, and celebrates the continued growth of our vibrant city.

Walking on Walnut: Celebrating our Walnut St. Businesses

Friday, November 21 – 5:00PM – 7:00PM

We’re ending the week with a celebration you won’t want to miss! Enjoy local bites, festive drinks, and the chance to mingle with our downtown business community as we toast to new beginnings on Walnut Street! From 5-7pm, park in the all-new Walnut Street Garage and visit our participating restaurants for specials and more! Be sure to stop by the first night of the Christmas City Village in the Sun Inn Courtyard featuring your favorite holiday vendors!
