The IceHouse Tonight performing arts series is presenting the Fourth Annual Jazz and Arts Festival July 18 from 12:30 to 7 pm at the Charles A. Brown Ice House.

We will be featuring five regional bands: Nancy and Spencer Reed Trio, Stank Factory New Orleans-style band, Art Bailey Quintet, Lehigh Valley Student Jazz, and Fusion Jazz Trio.

There will also be art and craft activities throughout the day for children and adults, bookstore and art vendors, and mental health and therapy talks. Food and beverages will be available.

The wildly popular Dancers in Concert showcase is the perfect event to highlight the work and dedication of PYT’s Dance Division students and faculty. Join us Saturday, May 30th, at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM at Foy Concert Hall – Moravian University, 342 Main Street, Bethlehem.

Our presenter at this meeting will be artist DAVE SOMMERS. He will invite participants into a close encounter with seminal works by Picasso, Chagall, Tanner, O’Keefe, and Van Gogh. They will discover how these artists actually built their paintings—how underlying structures, value patterns, directional forces, and intentional distortions create emotional resonance and intellectual clarity. davidsommersart.com.

As part of our Access Culture Initiative at Lehigh University Art Galleries, we are hosting a monthly accessibility discussion group for arts and cultural administrators, artists, students, educators, etc., to meet, discuss, and share resources.

April 20th’s meeting will include a discussion with local educator and advocate, Robin Gow as they discuss narratives of madness in art history! Please contact Elise at ejs421@lehigh.edu to receive the Zoom link and for accessibility needs or accommodations in advance.

This group is free and open to all who are interested; this group will always meet virtually.

Join LUAG for a hands-on community workshop inspired by the natural world and Rebecca Kelly’s artist’s book Into the Woods, currently on view in the Here and Now exhibition. Using twigs, bark, paper, stamps, and other materials, participants will explore texture, pattern, and storytelling as they create their own unique artist’s book.

Open to all ages and abilities, this workshop invites curiosity, experimentation, and creative connection with nature. No prior art experience is necessary—all materials will be provided.

Rebecca Kelly is a storyteller, visual artist, and curator. Rebecca is a teaching artist at Lehigh University Art Galleries, Young Audiences of NJ and PA, and The Banana Factory in Bethlehem, PA. Rebecca is on the roster of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Ms. Kelly is a gifted visual artist who specializes in Book and Textile Arts. Her work has been exhibited at The Philadelphia Museum of Art Library, Phila, PA, South Haven Arts Center, South Haven, MI, The Studio Exhibit at Evanston Art Center, Evanston, IL, The Phillips Mill Art Association Annual Juried Show, Hunterdon Art Museum Members Show and St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn.

LUAG Community Days offer opportunities to drop-in to the galleries to explore great works of art from the LUAG collection and current exhibitions through conversation, hands-on projects, and sketching. Geared to children ages 4 to 94 and their adult companions.

Storytelling can be done in many different ways—through paintings, sculptures, theatre plays, photography, novels, poetry….and puppets!

Join LUAG Museum Educator, Mars Ko, in learning about the stories being told through the pieces in Here and Now: 100 Years of LUAG, 100 Local Artists, using your very own puppet! The event will begin with a puppet-making workshop in the Lower Gallery and will end with an artwork discussion at the Main Gallery. Puppet materials will be provided (bringing in a clean sock is optional; other materials will be available). All ages are welcome—puppets are for everyone!

Mars Ko (they/she/he) is a sophomore majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Theatre. They are involved in the Eckhardt Scholars Program, as well as several clubs on campus. Passionate about ethical, collaborative archaeology and museum preservation, Mars is excited to learn new skills in the museum field. In their spare time, they enjoy learning new choreography, studying Arabic, exploring the Bethlehem area with friends, and painting scenes for theatre plays.

Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

On April 11, 2026, LUAG, along with over one hundred museums and organizations across the world will invite people in their communities to hit the pause button. Visitors will gather inside virtual spaces to take part in the international Slow Art Day and slow down as they look at art.

Stop by LUAG for self-guided activities and opportunities to spend time with great works of art. The average person looks at a painting for fifteen to thirty seconds, but on Slow Art Day, we urge visitors to spend 5 to 10 minutes closely examining a work of art – or longer if the work captivates and inspires them.

Why slow? When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert (or expertise). And that’s an exciting discovery. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art lovers. Visit the Slow Art Day website for more programs and information.

Lehigh University’s American Sign Language (ASL) Club aims to unite those interested in ASL and provide students with a safe space to learn and practice the language. The goal is to promote an understanding and appreciation of Sign Language and Deaf Culture and ultimately create a more inclusive environment on campus.

The LU ASL Club’s long-term goal is to bring an official ASL language course to Lehigh University; however, in the meantime, the club hopes to serve as a good medium for members to learn and practice ASL.
