On Friday evenings in June from 6:00-7:30 PM, the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (BFAC) hosts free concerts in the Sculpture Garden on the East side of Bethlehem’s City Hall at 10 E. Church Street.
Families can bring blankets, folding chairs, and enjoy a picnic in the garden. The events will feature a wide range of musical performances for all concertgoers to enjoy.
Admission is free for all.
In cases of inclement weather, concerts will held indoors at the Bob Cohen Room in the Bethlehem Public Library, next door to the Sculpture Garden and City Hall.
Born in the Soweto township of Johannesburg, South Africa, Bakithi Kumalo’s first job was playing bass at seven years old, filling in for his uncle’s bass player. He’s perhaps best known for his fretless bass playing on Paul Simon’s iconic 1986 album “Graceland.” Currently a Lehigh Valley resident, Bakithi will be joined by Miho Nobuzane on piano and Ray Marchicha on drums.
