DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of collective learning about neurodiversity and neurodivergence. In this two-hour-long workshop\, we’ll discuss the history of the terms “neurodiversity” and “neurodivergent” and the definitions of these terms. We’ll examine ableism towards neurodivergent people in our lives and in our art spaces. Then\, we’ll discover our role in cultivating space for neurodivergent people to creatively flourish. Throughout the training\, there will be opportunities to workshop ideas and solutions to create more welcoming spaces for your own art spaces and in our broader arts community. Whether you’re a museum professional\, artist\, educator\, or patron\, this is an opportunity to understand your role in neurodivergent inclusion. He is a founding organizer of Queer & Trans Lehigh Valley.\n \n \n \n \nHeadshot Robin.jpg\nRobin Gow (it/fae/he & él y elle) is an autistic trans poet\, witch\, and educator. It grew up in rural Pennsylvania and lives with his queer family on unceded Lenape land also called Allentown Pennsylvania. Over the last five years\, Robin has trained over 3\,000 people on LGBTQIA2+ Inclusion and Equity and Neurodiversity/Disability justice topics. He serves on the Board of Eastern PA Trans Equity Project and Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living and is a founding organizer of Queer & Trans Lehigh Valley. Robin is the author of critically acclaimed poetry books and LGBTQ+ young-adult and middle-grade novels\, earning starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly\, Kirkus\, School Library Journal\, and more.

She creates other visuals as well when inspired.\nNia is also a yoga instructor offering diverse classes to the valley for the past decade. She has taught early childhood since 2009.  Currently\, Nia is in the midst of learning to be a birth worker to support birthing beings themselves and those who are growing within them from conceiving to postpartum. Her classes and community offerings weave all the parts of herself together. Offering movement with a touch of playfulness and songs to soothe everyone present.\nNia has performed here in the Valley\, Philadelphia Amsterdam and Rio de Janeiro. She hopes to keep learning and growing and sharing the lessons she learns along the way.
