SUMMARY:AudaTours Bethlehem Audio Tour: Moravian Echoes and Industrial Origins
DESCRIPTION:A secret network of tunnels once buzzed beneath Bethlehem’s quiet cobblestone streets\, where revolutionaries plotted by candlelight and radical thinkers rewrote history in silence. \nTrace these hidden threads on a self-guided audio tour that reveals the stories behind doors most people walk past. Find lost legends and overlooked corners without a guidebook or crowd. \nWho risked everything in the Colonial Industrial Quarter\, where the smell of molten iron once foreshadowed disaster? Why did a rare orchid spark obsession and rivalry at the Lewis David de Schweinitz Residence? \nMove through centuries in a single afternoon\, feeling every echo of ambition\, invention\, and intrigue beneath your feet. Let each landmark breathe its secrets back to life as the city transforms around you. \nPress play and plunge beneath the surface of Bethlehem’s most intriguing streets.

SUMMARY:Beer & Baseball – Lecture by John Smith
DESCRIPTION:This talk explores the golden age of local beer and baseball\, examining the historic relationship between regional breweries and their hometown teams\, and how the rise of national brands changed both industries. The presentation will conclude with a fun quiz challenging attendees to match iconic beer brands with the baseball teams they once sponsored.\nIn the decades following the end of Prohibition in 1933\, beer and baseball became closely intertwined. Big-city brewers began sponsoring Major League Baseball teams\, while beer was sold in stadiums and promoted through scoreboards\, programs\, radio\, and eventually television. Beginning in the 1960s\, several of the nation’s largest breweries expanded beyond their regional markets\, leading to the gradual disappearance of many beloved local beer brands. As national sports broadcasts grew in popularity\, they also created a powerful new platform for national breweries to reach audiences across the country.

SUMMARY:Cirque Alfonse: La Noce
DESCRIPTION:You’ve never been to a wedding like this before! La Noce d’Alfonse is a celebration of love in all its forms — as tender as it is delightfully kitschy. It’s a freak show of the heart where caustic humor\, circus performance\, and live music collide in a whirlwind of festive poetry. Each night\, a bold — and sometimes risqué — procession unfolds a series of acrobatic\, love-infused tableaux\, honoring the union of one lucky couple from the audience. Rooted in a 1970s aesthetic and fueled by constant crowd interaction\, the show joyfully overflows with outrageous twists and turns. It bears all the hallmarks of Cirque Alfonse: irreverence\, daring\, poetry\, and live music. So put on your finest outfit — we’re counting on you to catch the bouquet!

SUMMARY:Vance Gilbert – Sharp-Witted Acoustic Storytelling in Song from a Folk and Americana Mainstay
DESCRIPTION:“If Joni Mitchell and Richie Havens had a love child\, with Rodney Dangerfield as the midwife\, the results might be something close to the great Vance Gilbert”\, says Richmond Magazine.\nVance Gilbert brings more than 30 years of experience as a songwriter\, performer\, and acoustic storyteller to Godfrey Daniels. A Philadelphia-area native\, Gilbert has recorded 14 albums\, opened for artists ranging from Arlo Guthrie and Anita Baker to The Milk Carton Kids and Southside Johnny\, and spent the mid-2000s opening more than 150 shows for George Carlin. His music combines Folk and Americana songwriting with sharp wit\, accomplished guitar playing\, and a gift for turning experience into song. Join us October 3 for an evening with a performer who has played stages and festivals around the world while remaining firmly rooted in the art of acoustic storytelling.
