Under the expert guidance of master woodturner Ken Burton\, you’ll refine both basic and advanced techniques\, gaining invaluable practice on the lathe. Over the course of five days\, you will learn spindle and faceplate (bowl) turning\, working through a diverse range of projects\, exercises\, and demonstrations. In addition to mastering turning techniques\, you’ll learn essential skills such as tool sharpening and versatile methods for securely mounting workpieces. Whether you’re new to turning or looking to refine your craft\, this course will provide you with the tools and knowledge to become a more confident and skilled woodturner.\nNew Class! This tour is the perfect option! \nYou’ll visit the Single Sisters’ House\, part of the Moravian Church Settlements–Bethlehem World Heritage Site; the 1752 Apothecary\, which until its closing in the 1950s was the oldest pharmacy in continuous operation in the United States; and the Nain-Schober House\, the only extant 18th-century building built by and lived in by Indigenous Peoples in Eastern Pennsylvania. \nThis tour departs from the Moravian Museum (66 W. Church Street) at noon every day the museum is open\, and all three locations are within easy walking distance of the museum.
