DESCRIPTION:PRESS RELEASE \nLehigh Valley painter\, Lois Schlachter will be exhibiting her abstract paintings titled Whimsical Fantasies at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from August 17 to September 23\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, August 17 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with an artist talk at 3:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nPainting for Lois is a way to express herself.  She is interpreting the world around her. The pieces in the show are her subconscious impressions and interpretations of life events over the last 10 years.  Lois loves organization\, balance\, color\, and a little intrigue.  She has attached a story with each painting in which she shares her thoughts. \nLois Schlachter describes herself as a geometric Abstract Expressionist.  She was born in Philadelphia and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  She is presently a resident of Kunkletown\, PA where she spends most of her time in her studio or walking her two Standard Poodles. She enjoys the fellowship of other artists\, like-minded people and is member of many organizations. \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \n

DESCRIPTION:On November 7\, 1975\, the day after his 34th birthday\, RCA Records released Old No. 1\, legendary songwriter Guy Clark’s debut album. While not a commercial success by any stretch\, the album was highly praised by the press and “L.A. Freeway\,” “Desperados Waiting for a Train\,” “Rita Ballou\,” “Texas 1947\,” “Let Him Roll\,” and “That Old Time Feeling” soon became instant classics. No one could have known then that Old No. 1 would inspire generations of American songwriters\, troubadours\, and music fans.\nThe Guy Clark Family Foundation\, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting songwriters\, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Old No. 1 with a series of concerts around the country to bring awareness to the organization and to boost songwriters who work in the spirit of Guy Clark. Songwriters will perform songs from Old No. 1\, followed by a set of their original material. \nTicket sales will benefit The Guy Clark Family Foundation.
