DESCRIPTION:PRESS RELEASE \nLehigh Valley painter\, Lois Schlachter will be exhibiting her abstract paintings titled Whimsical Fantasies at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from August 17 to September 23\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, August 17 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM with an artist talk at 3:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nPainting for Lois is a way to express herself.  She is interpreting the world around her. The pieces in the show are her subconscious impressions and interpretations of life events over the last 10 years.  Lois loves organization\, balance\, color\, and a little intrigue.  She has attached a story with each painting in which she shares her thoughts. \nLois Schlachter describes herself as a geometric Abstract Expressionist.  She was born in Philadelphia and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  She is presently a resident of Kunkletown\, PA where she spends most of her time in her studio or walking her two Standard Poodles. She enjoys the fellowship of other artists\, like-minded people and is member of many organizations. \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \n

SUMMARY:Church & Chapel Tours
DESCRIPTION:Guests will be welcomed to visit and learn more about the 1751 Old Chapel\, where George Washington and Benjamin Franklin worshipped and which welcomed local Native Americans as well as German settlers in its early history.   The Chapel is still used for Sunday worship\, memorial services\, weddings and other church events.\n\nThe Church Sanctuary was built from 1803-1806.  Guests will learn more not only about its architectural design\, history of music and worship\, but also the living ministries of Central Moravian Church today.  Unique places like the 2nd floor Kleiner Saal will be included on this tour.   A suggested donation of $5/person.   A gift shop with many unique Moravian items\, as well as books and other gifts will be open.\n\nOutside of our regular hours\, guided tours of the Sanctuary and Old Chapel can also be arranged by contacting the church office at 610-866-5661. A suggested donation of $5/person is requested for these tours.   They can be arranged subject to a tour guide and the church’s availability.
