SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. Church Street\, Bethlehem\, PA 18018  \nHours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM  Closed Weekends and Holidays \nPrintmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley \n“Regional Collective Impressions” \nApril 6 to May 16\, 2025 \nThe exhibit offers an intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nReception: Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM

I graduated from Moravian University in 2019 with a BFA and minor in Peace and Justice Studies. I began making polymer clay earrings the summer after graduating college. I used this as a therapeutic process to go outside the box of my traditional and conceptual paintings and express myself in a bold way. Jewelry making has been a really fun and transformative space for me to experiment with new materials in an entirely different way. I am a Lehigh Valley based artist.

SUMMARY:Bethlehem Steel Flashlight Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us during First Fridays for Bethlehem Steel Flashlight Tours!\nMany places in the massive Bethlehem Steel plant were 24/7 operations.  Although some areas glowed with molten metal after sunset\, other locations were dark\, illuminated only when workers with company issued flashlights navigated the maze-like facilities.  Now guests can participate in a guided tour of the plant after dark\, utilizing flashlights to experience the former steel mill by spotlighting specific features and peering into areas otherwise in the shadows during the day.  The tours will leave from the Museum\, walk the Hoover-Mason trestle\, look at the east side of the blast furnace complex from the ground\, and return to the Museum at street level\, all while using flashlights to focus on details and stories from “The Steel.”\nPlease bring your own flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants will be required to sign a waiver at check in.  This tour happens entirely in public spaces\, but in the dark\, with uneven surfaces and limited visibility.  It is not a haunted/ghost tour\, but some visitors may be uncomfortable with the lack of light\, strange noises\, and heights (46 feet). In the case of inclement weather (including rain\, snow/ice\, heavy winds\, lightning)\, please check the museum website and WFMZ storm center for cancellations.\nTour Schedule\nMay 2\, 2025 @7:45PM\nJune 6\, 2025 @8:30PM\nSeptember 5\, 2025 @7:45PM\nOctober 3\, 2025 @7:45PM\nNovember 7\, 2025 @7:45PM\nDecember 5\, 2025 @7:45PM\n$15/person ($12.50 for NMIH Members)\nPurchase tickets HERE.
