SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. Church Street\, Bethlehem\, PA 18018  \nHours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM  Closed Weekends and Holidays \nPrintmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley \n“Regional Collective Impressions” \nApril 6 to May 16\, 2025 \nThe exhibit offers an intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nReception: Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM

SUMMARY:LUAG Community Workshop Paper Gardens: Create Your Own Contemporary Herbarium with Artist\, Christa Neu
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and interactive workshop that invites families to explore the world of plants and pollinators! Artist Christa Neu will lead us through a closer look at the beauty of nature through mindful observation\, like keeping a nature journal. Inspired by the work of artist Deirdre Murphy‘s work on view in the Art\, Archicture and Design Faculty Exhibition\, you’ll learn cool techniques like frottage (leaf rubbing)\, printing\, and contour drawing to capture the shapes and patterns of plants that are helping restore our local ecosystem. \nBring along an old book or journal if you’d like to upcycle it into a special receptacle for your botanical creations! LUAG will also provide small sketchbooks. \nLimited to 20 participants. Please register in advance to help us plan for your visit and ensure we have enough materials for everyone! All ages are welcome. Kids younger than 5 years old may need help from their family members with the activity. \nIf you require assistance filling out this form or prefer to share your registration information via email or phone\, please email Elise at ejs421@lehigh.edu call 610-758-6882. Questions\, concerns\, and any accessibility needs can also be directed to Elise at ejs421@lehigh.edu or call 610-758-6882. \n  \n  \n\n\nCHRISTANEU_web-1536×736.jpg\n\n\n\n  \nChrista Neu\, is a photographer and adjunct professor at Lehigh University\, exploring the art of visual storytelling since first picking up a 110 camera in fourth grade. In late 2019\, she expanded her creative practice to include art journaling\, collage\, and block printing. These hands-on\, tactile processes provide a meditative break from screens and digital imagery\, helping her return to photography with renewed energy and perspective. Her analog work offers a grounded\, hands-on complement to her photographic practice. https://www.christaneukids.com/ \n  \n  \n\n\nDierdreMurphy-artsandsciences-faculty-LehighUniversity_0.jpg\n\n\n\n  \nDeirdre Murphy is a contemporary visual artist whose work delves into the intricate connections between art and science. Through the mediums of painting\, printmaking\, and collaborative sculpture\, she explores the effects of the climate crisis on avian migration\, nesting structures\, and ecosystems.
Inspired by the work of artist Deirdre Murphy‘s work on view in the Art\, Archicture and Design Faculty Exhibition\, you’ll learn cool techniques like frottage (leaf rubbing)\, printing\, and contour drawing to capture the shapes and patterns of plants that are helping restore our local ecosystem.\nBring along an old book or journal if you’d like to upcycle it into a special receptacle for your botanical creations! LUAG will also provide small sketchbooks.\nLimited to 20 participants. Please register in advance to help us plan for your visit and ensure we have enough materials for everyone! All ages are welcome. Kids younger than 5 years old may need help from their family members with the activity.\nIf you require assistance filling out this form or prefer to share your registration information via email or phone\, please email Elise at ejs421@lehigh.edu call 610-758-6882. Questions\, concerns\, and any accessibility needs can also be directed to Elise at ejs421@lehigh.edu or call 610-758-6882.\n \n \nCHRISTANEU_web-1536×736.jpg\n \nChrista Neu\, is a photographer and adjunct professor at Lehigh University\, exploring the art of visual storytelling since first picking up a 110 camera in fourth grade.
