SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. SUMMARY:Student Led Tour: A Walk Beyond the Present: Time and Change in Art with Thomas Kaspereen ‘27
DESCRIPTION:*Meet the tour guide at the Main Galleries front desk\, inside Zoellner Arts Center.\nThe group will walk from In a State of Rejuvenescence outside Zoellner Arts Center to the Temple near Packer Chapel. This is a 60-minute walking tour. \nArt tends to freeze moments in time but is never truly static. Sculptures tend to unveil the invisible forces that shape our existence. Join museum educator\, Thomas Kaspereen\, on an insightful journey across the Memorial Walkway to explore the crossroads where art\, time\, change\, and physics converge. Through this tour\, uncover how the sculptures on campus capture the essence of existence\, time\, and transformation\, both conceptually and physically. Discover how artists manipulate space and perspective\, connecting the past\, present\, and future in their creations. \nTour led by LUAG Student Museum Educator\, Thomas Kaspereen ‘27. \nThis event is in celebration of Slow Art Day!\nSlow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art. \nOn April 5\, 2025\, LUAG\, along with museums across the world\, from the United States to Germany\, Zambia\, China\, Brazil\, France\, El Salvador\, Britain\, Ukraine\, and many other countries\, will invite people in their communities to hit the pause button. Visitors will gather inside virtual spaces to take part in international Slow Art Day and slow down as they look at art. \nThe average person looks at a painting for fifteen to thirty seconds\, but on Slow Art Day\, we urge visitors to spend 5 to 10 minutes closely examining a work of art – or longer if the work captivates and inspires them. \nWhy slow? When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert (or expertise). And that’s an exciting discovery. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art lovers. Visit the Slow Art Day website for more programs and information. \nImage: David Cerulli. American (b. 1956). In a State of Rejuvenescence\, 1996. Painted Aluminum. Gift of Dexter F. Baker. SUMMARY:Dave’s Night Out with Pete Gustavson & Laurie Ann Hullinger Exploring Answers to\, “Why Write Songs?”
DESCRIPTION:WEDNESDAY\, APRIL 23 • 7PM\nDave’s Night Out with Pete Gustavson & Laurie Ann Hullinger Exploring Answers to\, “Why Write Songs?”\n$12.50 GENERAL ADMISSION\nhttps://godfreydaniels.org/event/daves-night-out-with-pete-gustavson-and-laurie-ann-hullinger-april-23-2025/\nJoin us for a fantastic\, audience participation-encouraged\, evening with Pete Gustavson and Laurie Ann Hullinger at Dave’s Night Out! Music\, stories\, and conversation come together in Dave’s Night Out\, a unique monthly series hosted by Dave Fry at Godfrey Daniels. This edition features the insightful songwriting of Pete Gustavson and Laurie Ann Hullinger\, who will share their thoughts on “Why Write Songs?” Pete’s deeply emotive style blends old-time country\, folk-rock\, and alternative influences\, while Laurie Ann’s American roots sound draws from classic country\, rockabilly\, and blues traditions. Expect an evening of songcraft\, storytelling\, and spontaneous dialogue in the intimate and welcoming atmosphere of Bethlehem’s premier Live Music Listening Room.\nPete Gustavson is a multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter residing in Quakertown\, Pennsylvania. He writes songs about love and life and death and the ache of regret\, calling upon influences ranging from ’40s torch songs to ’90s Alternative Rock\, and pulling at the strings that tie Old-time Country to ’60s Folk-Rock. Since the late 1990s\, he has performed as the frontman of South Bethlehem holdover The Unpronounceable.\nOne doesn’t typically think of Irvington\, New Jersey as a source for roots songwriters. But when your Daddy raised you on a steady diet of Hank Williams records along with various swing and blues artists of the time\, and your Mama played steel guitar\, it gets in your blood fast. Miss Laurie Ann Hullinger started writing songs at an early age and has developed an extensive collection of tight\, well-crafted songs that tell stories of love\, come and gone. Much in the tradition of The Blasters and The Paladins\, her musical style is “American Music”\, combining elements of traditional country\, rockabilly\, and 50’s rhythm & blues.
