SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. DESCRIPTION:Spring is in the air\, and that means it’s time for a Spring Cleaning!\nThe SouthSide Spring Cleanup is an annual event led by Lehigh University’s Office of Community & Regional Affairs in partnership with the Lehigh University Community Service Office and other local  volunteer organizations like SouthSide Arts District. Volunteers are assigned to different sections of the neighborhood to maximize impact.\nJoin the Lehigh University\, Community Action Development Bethlehem\, SouthSide Arts District\, and more as we embark on the biggest community cleanup of the year. Together\, we will tackle trash across SouthSide Bethlehem’s 3rd & 4th Streets and on the South Bethlehem Greenway.\nDownload the SouthSide Arts District Spring Greenway Clean Up Volunteer Information Packet\nAll are welcome to volunteer for this cleanup!\nMeet at Farrington Square\, located at Morton & S New St on Lehigh’s campus at 9:30 AM for a free breakfast and to receive your cleanup gear. The cleanup will begin at 10AM and run until 12PM.\nPlease make sure everyone dresses for the weather (this event is rain or shine)\nSneakers / closed toe shoes are required\nSun protection is recommended: Sunscreen\, sunglasses\, hats\, visors\, etc. \nSouthSide Arts District will be concentrating its volunteer efforts on the South Bethlehem Greenway. DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Festival at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem\, 2344 Center St. on Saturday\, April 12 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. \nThe event is free and open to all. It will begin with activities in the church’s Kirk Center (gym) with hands-on activities and a photo booth. The festivities will then move outside for Easter Egg Hunts for different age groups (including one for adults). \nEaster Egg Hunt participants will collect empty eggs which they will turn in to receive a goody bag. DESCRIPTION:Senior dance students will be showcasing their choreography skills in the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Young Choreographers in Concert taking place April 4 & 5\, 2025.\nThis annual concert is the culminating event\, or final exam\, for the Senior Dance Composition course. Each senior student creates original choreography that is cohesively inspired by a theme of their choosing and sets their work on their peers. This year’s performance features thirty choreographers and more than 100 dancers.\nIn this year’s concert\, the students’ choreography features a wide range of themes including how seasons impact our mood\, how addiction can affect a family dynamic and the emotional turmoil caused by war.\nConcert co-director\, Amy Berry says\, “Young Choreographers in Concert provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to explore and cultivate their creative potential. Throughout this artistic journey\, students have the chance to immerse themselves in the full choreographic process from the initial spark of an idea to the final performance on stage. This journey allows choreographers to express their emotions while the dancers showcase their authentic talent and bring the thematic vision to life.’\nEvening performances April 4 & 5 at 7 PM\, matinee performance April 5 at 2 PM.  Tickets are $7-$12  and are available for purchase at CharterArts.org.\nThe Charter Arts Dance Department provides students with a comprehensive and quality dance education in an environment that nurtures the talent of each individual.
