SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. DESCRIPTION:The American Brass Quintet is internationally recognized as one of the era’s premier chamber music ensembles. Since its founding in 1960\, the American Brass Quintet has performed on five continents\, made nearly 60 recordings and premiered more than 150 contemporary works for brass. Committed to the development of brass chamber music through higher education\, the quintet has served as Ensemble-in-Residence at The Juilliard School since 1987 and at the Aspen Music Festival since 1970.

SUMMARY:Young Choreographers in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Senior dance students will be showcasing their choreography skills in the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Young Choreographers in Concert taking place April 4 & 5\, 2025.\nThis annual concert is the culminating event\, or final exam\, for the Senior Dance Composition course. Each senior student creates original choreography that is cohesively inspired by a theme of their choosing and sets their work on their peers. This year’s performance features thirty choreographers and more than 100 dancers.\nIn this year’s concert\, the students’ choreography features a wide range of themes including how seasons impact our mood\, how addiction can affect a family dynamic and the emotional turmoil caused by war.\nConcert co-director\, Amy Berry says\, “Young Choreographers in Concert provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to explore and cultivate their creative potential. Throughout this artistic journey\, students have the chance to immerse themselves in the full choreographic process from the initial spark of an idea to the final performance on stage. This journey allows choreographers to express their emotions while the dancers showcase their authentic talent and bring the thematic vision to life.’\nEvening performances April 4 & 5 at 7 PM\, matinee performance April 5 at 2 PM.  Tickets are $7-$12  and are available for purchase at CharterArts.org.\nThe Charter Arts Dance Department provides students with a comprehensive and quality dance education in an environment that nurtures the talent of each individual.
