SUMMARY:Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley exhibition\, "Regional Collective Impressions"
DESCRIPTION:The Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley will be exhibiting a members exhibition “Regional Collective Impressions” at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from April 6 to May 16\, 2025.  There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, April 6 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street.  Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition will showcase images created using a variety of techniques and materials.  Examples of traditional fine art printmaking  methodologies are interspersed with prints that have been created using experimental methods and materials still within the context of printmaking.   \nThe Printmakers Society of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2012 by then retired Professor Richard Redd\, former head of the Department of Art at Lehigh University and noted printmaker.  To quote Richard Redd on that occasion: “Many artists make prints in various media as a secondary creative activity to painting\, sculpture\, photography\, etc.  For other artists\, making prints is the main event\, the center ring in their creative circus.” \nThis exhibit brings together printmakers  to show a diversity of media and styles:  the spontaneity of a monotype\, or the many hours of working on a metal plate dipped in an acid bath\, or perhaps a block of linoleum cut with chisels.  Offering a intriguing and fresh look at printmaking with a continuing desire to celebrate and promote the art form and encourage a love and understanding of the various types of fine art prints being created today by artists in the Lehigh Valley. \nFor more information check out the PSLV website at www.printmakerssocietylv.com or on Facebook and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/printmakerssocietylv/ \nThe exhibition is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (www.bfac-lv.org) and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. \nEVENT CALENDAR:  \nBethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery \n10 E. SUMMARY:Mid-Week Lenten Dinners & Programs
DESCRIPTION:Mid-Week Lenten Program\n“Full to the Brim: Envisioning\, Creating\, \nand Sustaining Community– \nLiving with Abundance in a World of Scarcity” \nFull to the Brim will use beautiful liturgies\, art and poetry\nfrom Sanctified Art following the Sunday morning’s\nlectionary readings. This year’s Lenten Scripture are filled\nwith parables and promises of God’s abundant and expansive\ngrace; Jesus as a mother hen\, a prodigal son welcomed home\,\na fig tree nurtured with care and hope\, precious oil poured out\nlovingly and freely\, stones shouting out with praise.\nSanctified Art writes about this series\, “We’ve done nothing\nto deserve or earn this grace\, and yet\, like water\, it spills over.\nFull to the Brim is an invitation — into a radically different\nLent\, into a full life. It’s an invitation to be authentically\nwho you are\, to counter scarcity and injustice at every\nturn\, to pour out even more grace wherever it is needed. It\ndisrupts the scarcity mentality that capitalism\, oppression\, or\nhierarchy can plant inside of us. When we allow ourselves to\nbe filled to the brim with God’s lavish love\, that love spills\nover into everything we touch. . . .\nThis Lent\, let us trust — fully — that we belong to God.\nLet us increase our capacity to receive and give grace.\nLet us discover the expansive life God dreams for us”. \nAsh Wednesday & Mid-Week Lenten Dinner & Programs\nMarch 5\, 12\, 19\, 26\, April 2\, 9 \n6 p.m. Dinner\, 7 p.m. Worship and Program\nChristian Education building\, 40 W. SUMMARY:Young Choreographers in Concert
DESCRIPTION:Senior dance students will be showcasing their choreography skills in the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Young Choreographers in Concert taking place April 4 & 5\, 2025.\nThis annual concert is the culminating event\, or final exam\, for the Senior Dance Composition course. Each senior student creates original choreography that is cohesively inspired by a theme of their choosing and sets their work on their peers. This year’s performance features thirty choreographers and more than 100 dancers.\nIn this year’s concert\, the students’ choreography features a wide range of themes including how seasons impact our mood\, how addiction can affect a family dynamic and the emotional turmoil caused by war.\nConcert co-director\, Amy Berry says\, “Young Choreographers in Concert provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to explore and cultivate their creative potential. Throughout this artistic journey\, students have the chance to immerse themselves in the full choreographic process from the initial spark of an idea to the final performance on stage. This journey allows choreographers to express their emotions while the dancers showcase their authentic talent and bring the thematic vision to life.’\nEvening performances April 4 & 5 at 7 PM\, matinee performance April 5 at 2 PM.  Tickets are $7-$12  and are available for purchase at CharterArts.org.\nThe Charter Arts Dance Department provides students with a comprehensive and quality dance education in an environment that nurtures the talent of each individual. Students engage in an array of technique classes\, improvisation\, composition and dance history classes.  Dance majors also have numerous performing opportunities throughout the year\, both in school and in the community.\nABOUT THE LEHIGH VALLEY CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS (Charter Arts):\nCharter Arts is an audition-based public charter school\, funded by Pennsylvania taxpayer dollars\, that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students\, grades 9-12\, who have a passion for the arts.   Students major in one of seven artistic areas: dance\, instrumental music\, literary arts\, production arts\, theatre\, visual arts\, or vocal music.  \nCharter Arts’ rigorous curriculum fosters both academic and artistic excellence for its students. The school’s impressive Future Ready PA Index ranking\, Advanced Placement (AP) exam statistics\, Keystone Exam statistics\, SAT scores\, prestigious artistic accolades\, and graduation rate\, are testaments to the outstanding education that Charter Arts provides.\nRecently\, Charter Arts was ranked #1 Best Charter High School in PA and #1 Best Public High School Teachers in PA on Niche’s 2025 Best Schools in America Rankings.  In addition\, Charter Arts was one of only four Lehigh Valley schools to be ranked in the Top 100 Public High Schools in PA on U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Schools in America.\nTo learn more about Charter Arts\, prospective students and their families are encouraged to attend an upcoming Virtual Information Session.
