DESCRIPTION:Checking In? Bethlehem’s Alluring Accommodations Exhibit is Now Open! \nThis experience transports guests back nearly three hundred years to various hospitality sites in downtown Bethlehem. This multi-site experience ventures to the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem and the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts. Guests will visit sites such as the fictional Moravian Inn\, a reconstruction of the Eagle Hotel\, and the Sun Inn. Along the way\, guests will learn all about the various visitors of Bethlehem\, the importance of hospitality to Bethlehem’s history\, and the roots of these hotels in shaping the United States.  \nThis exhibit offers two ticketing options\, one of which includes a Christmas City Spirits tasting experience and a complimentary tasting glass with a recipe at the conclusion of the tour at the Sun Inn.  \nThe Kemerer Museum and Moravian Museum are open Friday through Sunday\, 11 AM – 5 PM. SUMMARY:Summer Dance Program
DESCRIPTION:The Ballet Guild’s Summer Dance Program will be held from June 24 through August 2 and includes day classes for the serious pre-professional dancer as well as age-appropriate classes for children and adults. Our classes emphasize the development of ballet skills\, with a focus on knowledge\, proper placement\, and alignment. Students are encouraged to build confidence through accomplishments in dance. \nThe Pre-Professional Division (Monday through Friday days) is designed for the serious dancer ages 9 and up with dance experience and includes ballet\, pointe (where appropriate)\, tap\, Progressing Ballet Technique\, and much more! The Community Division with late afternoon and evening classes offers Pre-Ballet for ages 3 and 4; Youth Ballet for ages 5-12; Adult/Teen Ballet and Pointe for ages 13 & up; Adult/Teen Beginning Ballet; and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) for adults/teens! SUMMARY:Tim Higgins\, Digital College Exhibition\, "Please Stand By"
DESCRIPTION:Artist Tim Higgins will be exhibiting his digital collage works\, “Please Stand By”\, at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from July 3 to August 13\, 2024. There will be an opening reception on Sunday\, July 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church Street. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nThe exhibition is composed of hundreds of collaged images and elements depicting themes from comics\, pulp fiction\, television\, film and everyday life. High Art meets Low Art as Higgins creates new works from material either originally sourced or appropriated from a variety of sources and media. The works are either printed on paper and framed or mounted on glass. \nTim Higgins is a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked in graphics\, painting and short film. He grew up in Allentown\, attended Salisbury High School\, and studied commercial art at Northampton County Community College and fine arts with a concentration in painting at Kutztown University. Higgins has also been a newspaper editor and reporter in the Lehigh Valley as well as a freelance arts writer.

DESCRIPTION:“Surveying the ruder ages from her pinnacle of refinement\, picking among historic methods of solemnly hailing an illustrious day\, America found nothing so fit for the purpose as the steam whistle.” George E. Pond\, on whistling for the 4th\, 1876 \nCelebrate the 4th as factories\, railroads\, and ships have\, by sounding whistles and horns.  This special event will begin with a presentation by Brian Ferrence at 11 AM on the history of whistles used on steam locomotives.  At noon\, we will use compressed air to blow a variety of whistles and horns\, each taking its turn so their unique sounds can be recorded. \nDo you own a whistle or air horn that you would like to hear?  If so\, bring it in\, and if it passes a safety review\, we will do our best to pipe it in.  There are many such devices that were salvaged from old locomotives\, mines\, and mills\, that have not been heard in decades.  Let’s hear them now. \nAll activities included with Museum admission. \nEarplugs will be for sale.
