DESCRIPTION:Checking In? Bethlehem’s Alluring Accommodations Exhibit is Now Open! \nThis experience transports guests back nearly three hundred years to various hospitality sites in downtown Bethlehem. This multi-site experience ventures to the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem and the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts. Guests will visit sites such as the fictional Moravian Inn\, a reconstruction of the Eagle Hotel\, and the Sun Inn. Along the way\, guests will learn all about the various visitors of Bethlehem\, the importance of hospitality to Bethlehem’s history\, and the roots of these hotels in shaping the United States.  \nThis exhibit offers two ticketing options\, one of which includes a Christmas City Spirits tasting experience and a complimentary tasting glass with a recipe at the conclusion of the tour at the Sun Inn.  \nThe Kemerer Museum and Moravian Museum are open Friday through Sunday\, 11 AM – 5 PM. SUMMARY:Want to tour the 1751 Old Chapel or 1806 Sanctuary of Central Moravian Church?
DESCRIPTION:Old Chapel\, Every Friday (12 – 1 p.m.)  – Starting June 7th!  \nStarting June 7\, the Old Chapel will be open each Friday from 12 – 1 p.m. with a Moravian Daily Text reading at 12:15 p.m. This short daily devotion has been a part of Moravian tradition since 1731.\n\nGuests will be welcomed to visit and learn more about the 1751 Old Chapel\, where George Washington and Benjamin Franklin worshipped and which welcomed local Native Americans as well as German settlers in its early history.   The Chapel is still used for Sunday worship\, memorial services\, weddings and other church events.\n\nSanctuary\, Every Saturday (2 – 4 p.m.) – Starting July 7th! \n The Church Sanctuary\, built from 1803-1806\, will be open for guided tours every Saturday starting in July (July 7th)\, each half hour from 2 – 4 p.m. Guests will be welcomed to take this 45-minute tour of the sanctuary learning more not only about its architectural design\, history of music and worship\, but also the living ministries of Central Moravian Church today. Unique places like the 2nd floor Kleiner Saal will be included on this tour. A suggested donation of $5/person. A gift shop with many unique Moravian items\, as well as books and other gifts will be open.  Guests should enter on the Northeast side of the church\, the door accessible to the church green and Heckewelder Place (closest to Moravian Book store).\n\nGuided tours of the Sanctuary and Old Chapel can also be arranged by contacting the Rev. Josh Follweiler\, Associate Pastor at 610-866-5661 (x.201). A suggested donation of $5/person is requested for these tours. They can be arranged subject to a tour guide and the church’s availability.

DESCRIPTION:The Ballet Guild’s Summer Dance Program will be held from June 24 through August 2 and includes day classes for the serious pre-professional dancer as well as age-appropriate classes for children and adults. Our classes emphasize the development of ballet skills\, with a focus on knowledge\, proper placement\, and alignment. Students are encouraged to build confidence through accomplishments in dance. \nThe Pre-Professional Division (Monday through Friday days) is designed for the serious dancer ages 9 and up with dance experience and includes ballet\, pointe (where appropriate)\, tap\, Progressing Ballet Technique\, and much more! The Community Division with late afternoon and evening classes offers Pre-Ballet for ages 3 and 4; Youth Ballet for ages 5-12; Adult/Teen Ballet and Pointe for ages 13 & up; Adult/Teen Beginning Ballet; and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) for adults/teens! DESCRIPTION:On Friday evenings in June from 6:00-7:30 PM\, the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (BFAC) hosts free concerts in the Sculpture Garden on the East side of Bethlehem’s City Hall at 10 E. Church Street. \nFamilies can bring blankets\, folding chairs\, and enjoy a picnic in the garden. The events will feature a wide range of musical performances for all concertgoers to enjoy. \nAdmission is free for all. \nIn cases of inclement weather\, concerts will held indoors at the Bob Cohen Room in the Bethlehem Public Library\, next door to the Sculpture Garden and City Hall. \n\n2024 Season Line Up\nFriday\, June 7: A FEW GOOD MEN \nPlaying music from the 60’s\, 70’s\, 80’s and 90’s\, this band makes you feel good and makes you want to dance. You’ll get to enjoy songs like Sam and Dave’s “Soul Man\,” “Miss You” by the Rolling Stones\, and “Just My Imagination\,” by the Temptations. \n\n\nFriday\, June 14: BIG VALLEY BLUE GRASS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet ready for a toe-tapping evening of traditional and contemporary bluegrass! Bethlehem’s own Big Valley ignites the stage with hard-driving rhythms and soulful harmonies. Featuring fiddle\, up-right bass\, banjo\, guitar\, mandolin and wide- ranging vocals\, the group’s fully authentic sound is inspired by Folk icons like Ricky Skaggs\, Sam Bush\, Alison Krauss and Bob Dylan. \n\nFriday\, June 21: BAKITHI KUMALO AND FRIENDS \nBorn in the Soweto township of Johannesburg\, South Africa\, Bakithi Kumalo’s first job was playing bass at seven years old\, filling in for his uncle’s bass player. He’s perhaps best known for his fretless bass playing on Paul Simon’s iconic 1986 album “Graceland.” Currently a Lehigh Valley resident\, Bakithi will be joined by Miho Nobuzane on piano and Ray Marchicha on drums. \n\nFriday\, June 28: HERENCIA JIBARA \nEnjoy the spirited Latino music of long-time Valley favorites Herencia Jibara. This energetic\, fun\, and diverse eight-piece band shares the tunes and rhythms of Plena\, Salsa\, Merengue\, Bachata and more!
